On The Road, Day 1

Today was the day we embarked on the new adventure that we have been planning for the last few months.  We pulled out of Coburg, OR in our Penske truck with car in tow during the wee hours of the morning with great excitement about the road ahead and our ultimate destination of Boston, MA. As we were thinking about the new journey and our decision to go to Harvard Business School we found that making a big change in life brings about a fresh perspective, new excitement and vision for the future. We have no idea what life will be like in Boston (Cambridge actually) but we will embrace it as these experiences will continue to shape and mold us into the people we will become. Saying good-bye to our family and friends and beloved Oregon was not easy, but we know with your love and support and lots of visits (hint, hint) we will all make it just fine.

I hope to update the blog daily (pending internet availability) with stories of our drive across country. I have one for ya already…
We were driving through the town of Burns, OR slowing down for a stoplight and a lady pulls up next to us and motions us to roll down the window. She proceeds to ask if we knew we had a flat tire on the trailer that was carrying the car. What? Already? No we did not know. She said the tire is completely blown out and flapping everywhere but said there was a Les Schwab about 4 blocks ahead. We thanked her immensely and continued driving, a bit slower to make sure we would not damage the tire more. We were in shock that after only 4 hours on the road we were already dealing with a flat, but were SO grateful that we would be pulling up to Les Schwab in minutes. Sure enough Les Schwab was just ahead on the right and we pulled in and they fixed us right up. We already had a great devotion and love for Les Schwab, as they are just the best and they confirmed themselves dependable once again. Thank you Les Schwab! And thank you Lord for taking care of us! We hope that is the first and last flat of the trip J

We arrived in Pocatello at my uncle’s house this evening and enjoyed a nice dinner on the patio. We will hit the road tomorrow morning with the next stop being Silverthorne, CO.

I forgot to post the pic of the tire yesterday...

Les Schwab to the rescue!
